Odd Grenland has signed new goalkeeper Andreas Lie. He comes from Aalesund and will be a backup option to Arni Gautur Arason.

What happened?

Andreas Lie is 22 years old and has played 22 top-tier games for Aalesund. He joins Odd Grenland on a free transfer, after not being offered a new contract by Aalesund.

Why did Odd Grenland choose Lie?

Coach Dag Eilev Fagermo says that Lie gets the chance at Odd Grenland because he is much younger than the other candidates, and that they believe they can develop him into a top goalkeeper.

What does the future hold for Lie?

Lie will be a backup option to Arni Gautur Arason, but he is willing to compete with the Icelandic goalkeeper. He says that he is aware that the team has one of the best goalkeepers in the division, but that he will do his best.
