Odd Grenland has over time moved into dangerous waters and gradually become worse. Much is definitely not the responsibility of coach Knut Rønning. He has a team that one could think was a team that could become number 6 before the start of the season. Now it looks even worse. Yet, one sits wondering how it is possible to play so poorly against Egersund, Hødd, Ranheim, Raufoss and Kongsvinger. The team does not hold together. One does not understand what they are trying to do. Rønning has after 20 games not found an 11-man team he can rely on. Exactly that is naturally a part of the quality of the players. But is a player roster with many who have played in the elite really as bad as they have appeared in the year? The team is not able to defend its own box. The midfield is supposed to press high, but is vulnerable and is easily outplayed by most opponents. The attack looks unplanned. Odd creates almost no chances. There are not many on the current team who played under Pål Arne Paco Johansen. But the legacy of him comes through at times so clearly that one would think he was sitting on the bench, when the players clump together far up on the field and play small games like it should be five-a-side. Entries that can create chances come almost never. OBOS-ligaen had a 14-day break due to international games in June and a four-week holiday in July. As far as I registered, Odd had a 9-day break from joint training both.
